Answers

  1. The Minnesota Ironman® Bike Ride is one of the oldest and largest biking events in Minnesota. This will be the 41st annual Ironman, always held on the last Sunday in April.
  2. The Hostelling International USA, Minnesota Council organizes the Ironman®, with the help of the Twin Cities Bicycle Club and many, many volunteers. HI-MN is a member supported non-profit organization, dedicated to promoting international travel, established in 1934. The Ironman Bike Ride is a fundraising event for the HI-MN. You may also donate to HI-MN, a 501-3(c) charitable organization.

  4. You will receive a Confirmation Newsletter. The Ironman® Rider Confirmation Newsletter will be mailed to ALL registrants by mid-April.

  6. Yes! Any adult with the ability to cycle at least 30 miles can ride the Ironman®. Any youth who is accompanied by an adult is also welcome to ride.

  8. The weather is extremely dynamic this time of year. Be prepared for cool weather and wind. Rain is a distinct possibility. For great tips on what to wear, see TCBC.
  9. No. The Ironman® will run in any weather. That's why it's called the Ironman®.
  10. It is a good idea to bring a pump and a tire patch kit if you know how to use it. Otherwise, there are mechanics at all rest stops and a few who ride the route.
  11. Yes. You can call the day-of Hotline. The number will be provided in the Confirmation Newsletter.
  12. Typically we average 4,500 cyclists.
  13. Yes. To ride in the Ironman® we require that you wear a helmet.
